Troubadette is off to Canada this September to be a guest MC at the Saskatoon International Burlesque Festival! It\u2019s their first big international trip since COVID and also happens to be just a few weeks after their 40th Birthday, which they\u2019re very excited about (round numbers are awesome).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we all know, international travel is expensive, and Troubadette tells jokes for a living. While she has pretty solid freelance gigs, there\u2019s always the risk that there won\u2019t quite be the work she\u2019d hoped for. In a shockingly in-character turn of events, Troubadette has decided to do Something Insane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ll be live-streaming this nonsense (likely on Twitch<\/a>) so you can check in during the day and see how it\u2019s all going. There are four ways you can support the Song-A-Thon, depending on what moves you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 10am on Sunday April 26th, I\u2019m once again embarking on a chaotic songwriting journey. The mission? To write as many songs as I can in a 12 hour period in the hopes that people will be inspired by my sheer audacity and give me money for making stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You can pledge an amount of money per song. This could be anything from $1 to\u2026 a bigger number. Once the Song-A-Thon is over, you\u2019ll donate an amount based on how many songs were created.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You can commission a song during the Song-A-Thon by donating via Ko-Fi <\/a>with however much money you want and a prompt. While I would never<\/em> presume to tell you how much a song is worth, the bigger the donation, the more time and effort I\u2019ll spend on the song. If it\u2019s a REALLY big donation, this might be something I write for you the next day so I can give it all my attention. (Side bar: you can commission songs off me anytime, just get in touch!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You can make a one-off donation via Ko-Fi because you think what I do is cool.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You can tune in and see what nonsense is happening on the day and\/or guilt your wealthy friends into supporting the arts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    As well as the Saskatoon International Burlesque Festival, I also have plans to visit friends and family in Montreal and pick up as many gigs as I can in my travels. If you\u2019ve enjoyed my work as a singer of songs and teller of tales, I\u2019d appreciate any support you can give – even if it\u2019s just spreading the word.
